Boardmasters 2018

Boardmasters 2018

Since 1981 Boardmasters has been the biggest international professional surf contest and festival in the UK! And 2018 won’t be any different, the five day festival (Wednesday 8th to Sunday 12th 2018) has a line up sure to make anyone take notice. George Ezra, Years and Years, The Chemical Brothers, The Editors, Miles Kane and the one and only Craig David are appearing at the festival alongside 75 other acts! There’s something for everyone.

Professional surfing competitions

Fistral Beach will once again be the stage for international and British surfing professionals at Boardmasters 2018.

Part of the World Surf League (WSL) qualifying series, Boardmasters will host the Men’s QS1000, Women’s QS1000, Men’s LQS1000 (longboard) and Women’s LQS (longboard) contests. The world’s best surfers will also battle it out on the water for the European leg of the WSL Longboard series. With local hero and former Dry Ambassador Ben Skinner sure to take to the water local support will be hoping he grabs the win.

Amateur surfing

There’s 300 miles of beach to explore on the Cornish coast and amateur surfing takes place every day during the festival. Whether you’re hitting the waves for the first time, looking for surf hire to ride the waves for the second time or embracing your favourite surf spot, everyone gets the chance to take on the swell to their hearts content.

There’s also a skateboarding competition that takes place down at Fistral beach over the five days, we recommend spending a couple of hours down there watching the kids fly through the air – you’ll genuinely never have seen anything like it before!

Our final tip is to hang around the trade stands on Sunday afternoon as your favourite brands look to shift some of their stock at discounted prices. You’ll definitely grab a bargain that your mates will be jealous of! Dry won’t be there this year but have fun if you’re going and let’s hope the sun shines!
