Dry and the ‘Plastic Problem’. Here at The Dry Bag we frequently get asked how environmentally aware we are so we thought we would dedicate a blog to shouting about what we do!
Our wetsuit hanger is made from 100% recycled materials, carpet to be precise. The dense and tough nature of carpet fabric is perfect for The Dry Bag wetsuit hanger as it can take a drop weight of 25kg. Another attribute of recycled carpet is that it’s light to carry meaning our wetsuit hanger won’t add unnecessary weight to your travels.
The cardboard box The Dry Bag arrives in is made from 100% recycled cardboard and is also recyclable. All the promotional assets included in the box can be recycled and we email you your invoice to save on paper. And another bonus that people don’t often consider is that every time you use The Dry Bag you are not using a plastic bag or bin liner to transport your wetsuit in between sessions. The Dry Bag will last you a lifetime if it’s treated properly and it will go a long way in protecting your wetsuit too!
And a few other small changes we have made at Dry HQ contribute to reducing our plastic footprint: we’ve switched to reusable glass milk bottles, have one central office bin to reduce plastic bin bags and now have a dry mixed recycling bin in every room of the building. We try to reduce our carbon footprint by cycling to work when we can and ship any foreign manufactured goods in via sea.
In addition to all this, since our launch, we have been a strong supporter of The Plastic Project. Led by Tim Nunn this project aims to raise awareness of the sheer amount of plastic in our oceans. We donate a yearly amount to this charity and are proud to be associated with them.
